Die Cut Flyers & Leaflet

Die cut flyers and leaflets…what are they? Keep reading to learn more…

What are Die Cut Flyers and Leaflets?

Die cut flyers and leaflets are also known as shaped flyer and leaflets. Die cutting is a quick and cost-effective way of cutting a number of flyers or leaflets into identical shapes.

Once your flyer has been printed onto a square or rectangular sheet of paper or card, it is placed into a machine that is loaded with a custom-made ‘die’ or ‘punch block’ which is a block of wood with a metal blade that has been folded and bent into the required shape for your printed leaflets.

The specialist machine then pushes the printed paper and the punch block together. The blade cuts through the sheets of paper or card and produces your shaped flyers in an instant!

Why choose die cutting for your flyers and leaflets?

The die-cutting process enables us to create custom shaped flyers using a fast and simple method. Once we have produced your custom shaped die, you can use it over and over again – reducing costs and allowing you to create thousand of identical shaped leaflets and flyers.

Can die-cutting be used on any printed material?

As explained above, die-cutting is a large ‘punch-out’ style of cutting so it works best on paper and card which is why it is so popular for printed flyers and leaflets. For the best results, paper weights need to be between 170gsm and 500gsm.

Alternative cutting methods for shaped leaflets

Using specialist machinery, we are able to use digital ‘die free’ cutting with fantastic results. Using this method for your shaped flyers and leaflets can reduce costs (no need to purchase a new die block) and lower production times.

This method is ideal for lower quantity orders or as prototypes for our larger die cutting formes.
